China Tourism Group Duty Free Corporation Limited(CTG DUTY-FREE)published its first Environmental, Social and Governance Report (hereinafter “ESG Report”) in both Chinese and English versions on 18th July 2022. Since 1984, we have strived to continuously satisfy consumers’ rising demand for a better life by grounding our efforts as the core mission. Our company not only promotes high-quality development but also actively contributes to society, engages in ethical practices, and delivers outstanding achievements.
Two ESG-related Topics and Four pillars, disclosed ESG performance comprehensively
The ESG report responds to our stakeholders with our performances and achievements based on the principles of governance, prosperity, people, and planet with details regarding ESG management, customer service, sustainable supply chain management, employee development, public service, low carbon with environmental protection etc.
Environmental Initiatives with Brand Impacts
CTG DUTY-FREE deploys our influence from the supply chain to attract and engage our stakeholders, including brand partners and consumers, to support green development worldwide. We collaborated with brand partners to optimize freight shipping, introduce green designs, and use environmentally friendly materials in counters and exhibition stands to reduce the overall carbon emission and provide a green shopping space with fashionable design. Our vision is to encourage and advocate for our customers to realize the ideology of sustainable consumption through various environmental protection activities.
Promoting Regional Prosperity and Development
As a significant participant in Hainan’s offshore duty-free industry, our company has already operated business for over ten years. We have created a new tourism and shopping development model to assist the progress of the industry continuously. Moreover, our company has actively undertaken targeted assistance in Menglian and Ximeng counties in Yunnan province. We effectively combined our assistance work with the company’s primary business and took multiple innovative measures to consolidate achievements of poverty alleviation and to promote rural vitalization comprehensively.
Principles of Governance
CTG DUTY-FREE has established a governance system consisting of a clear division of authority and responsibilities with regular and stable operations. In addition, we also created an effective institutional system, improved risk management and internal control and enforced business ethics to ensure standardized and effective corporate governance and operation. Meanwhile, our company established the ESG management system consisting of The Board of Directors, The ESG Leadership Group and other Group members, including the managers in charge of the company’s relevant departments, to ensure effective implementation.

We continuously enrich the brand categories, enhance the service quality, improve commodity management, and promote digital innovation to satisfy consumers’ demand for a better life by grounding our efforts. Furthermore, our company constructs high-quality buildings that adhere to green concepts and green building standards throughout their life cycle. Our company plans to build green buildings covering an area of approximately 1,455,900 square meters.

At the End
This is the first ESG report, also the first time for our company to describe the corporate vision and practical action of CTG-DUTY-FREE with the ESG language. We will continue to issue the ESG report annually, based on the concept of “The Report Facilitates The Management”. Moreover, our company will unremittingly improve our internal ESG Management system and Performance Management Indicator. Our company will improve the ESG performance from the aspects of customers, environment, employees, communities, supply chain and so on based on primary business activities to create more value for the entire society.
It is worth noting that the cover and some illustrations in the ESG report were obtained from the Environmental Protection Poster Design Competition of our company with the topic of “Discover the Beauty of Environmental Protection with cdf”. We hope to convey the wishes of green development through colorful aesthetic creativity and element collision.
